PTFE Skived Sheets (often referred to as Teflon Tape or Film) are manufactured by "shaving" a thin layer from a large molded cylinder of PTFE. This process allows for much thinner and more flexible material compared to molded plates. Technical Specifications • Standard Thickness: Available from 0.05 mm to 3.0 mm. • Standard Widths: Common widths include 300 mm, 600 mm, 1000 mm, and 1200 mm. • Surface Finish: Smooth, non-porous, and naturally white (unless additives are used). • Tolerance: Very high precision in thickness, usually within ±5%. Key Advantages • Flexibility: Unlike rigid molded sheets, skived sheets can be easily wrapped around pipes, rollers, or curved surfaces. • Continuous Length: They can be supplied in long, continuous rolls, which is ideal for lining large tanks or industrial conveyor belts. • Die-Cutting: Their thinness makes them perfect for stamping out high-precision gaskets, washers, and seals. • Dielectric Strength: Excellent for electrical insulation in capacitors and high-temperature wire wrapping. Common Applications 1. Chemical Tank Linings: Used to protect metal surfaces from highly corrosive acids. 2. Heat Sealing: Often used on packaging machines to prevent plastic bags from sticking to the heating bars. 3. Electrical Insulation: High-frequency insulation for aerospace and telecommunications components. 4. Mechanical Shims: Used as low-friction spacers in machinery. Available Variants
